Five Creative Ways To Organize Your Closet

Rob Marchese • January 22, 2019

An area of the home that tends to get over-stuffed, messy and out of control the most often is the closet. The designated home to innumerable items, like clothing, shoes and assorted accessories, it’s no wonder that the closet can quickly turn from a systematic space, to a chaotic one. With a coordinated plan executed successfully (And with a little bit of upkeep!) though, you can easily transform your closet into an area of calm and creative design based on your own personal preference!

Check out these five different ways to format your closet and find which style works best for you!

By Color!

By Season!

This seasonal way to organize your closet is perfect for those who really dress for the time of year. If you’re all about wearing sun dresses in summer, cardigans in the fall, water repellent outerwear for spring, and big, warm sweaters in the winter, then you’ll appreciate a closet that has the appropriate clothing at the ready no matter the season.

By Article of Clothing!

For those who enjoy arranging by category, this is the organizational way to go for you. Simply hang all of your t-shirts in the same section, dresses in the same section, pants in the same section, and so on for the rest of the types of clothing that you have in your closet.

By Outfit!

If you have a lot of trouble putting together outfits in the morning before work, or right before going out for a fun night on the town, you should be hanging up your clothes by outfit so that they are together and ready to go when you need them.

By Most Worn!

Everyone’s closet has those hard to reach spots, and then also that prime real estate section where things are easier to grab quickly when needed. To create the most efficient closet that you can, consider organizing your closet by most worn articles of clothing. Your mornings will be more productive than ever!
