The Story Behind Zippboxx
In 2014, my family and I had to abruptly move out of our two-bedroom apartment located on Long Island, NY after we discovered mold growing in a crawl space underneath our apartment. My wife and son had been constantly getting sick and it became apparent that mold was the cause. To get out fast we had to settle on a place the was much smaller, knowing a lot of our stuff would not fit we needed to rent a storage unit.
Moving day was here and it was time to rent a truck. Easy, right? Nope, not a single truck was available in my neighborhood. I had to drive 20 minutes in the opposite direction of my move just to get the truck. Then I had to wait in line for 45 minutes, and leave a $200.00 deposit. It took 6 hours to pack the truck, and by time we arrived at the self-storage facility, it had closed. The storage facility didn't re-open until 8am, and the truck was due at 9am. So, after rushing to cram all our belongings into storage, we still had to pay heavily for returning the truck two hours late.
After getting settled, I had to constantly drive back and forth to the storage unit to access my stuff. One day while shifting through boxes that were falling apart, and bags that were ripping every time I moved them. I couldn't help but think there had to be a better way; With today’s technology why couldn’t I just click my storage back to my home? The Idea of Zippboxx full-service was born, to create an on-demand storage service that with just the click of a button your storage would disappear and then reappear whenever you want it.
With Zippboxx on-demand storage, you’ll never need to visit a self-storage facility, or have a giant container dropped on your front lawn, you don't even have to lift your storage bins further than your front door. Use your phone, tablet, or almost any connected device to order your bins, schedule pick-ups, or have your items delivered back to you.
